Waterskier Software (“Waterskier Software,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) built this policy to explain, in plain terms, what information we collect through our website and services (together, the “Services”), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies wherever this policy is linked or referenced.

Plain-language summary

  • What we collect: account details you give us directly, plus usage data collected automatically through analytics and cookies.
  • Why: to run and improve the Services, keep them secure, and communicate with you.
  • Who we share it with: service providers who help us operate (like our analytics provider), and no one else — we do not sell your personal information.
  • Your choices: you can access, correct, export, or delete your data, and opt out of non-essential analytics.
  • The full policy below has the details. If anything here conflicts with the sections that follow, the sections below control.
Section 1

Information we collect

Information you provide to us

When you create an account, contact support, subscribe to updates, or otherwise interact directly with us, you may give us information such as your name, email address, and any other details you choose to include in messages to us. We collect this because you’ve entered it — we don’t infer it.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, our systems and analytics tools automatically record certain technical and usage information. This includes things like your device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, features used, timestamps, and referring URLs. We use this to understand how the Services are used and to keep them working reliably — see Section 3 for the cookies and tools involved.

CategoryExamplesSource
Account & contact Name, email address, password (stored hashed), support messages Provided by you
Usage data Pages and features used, session duration, click and navigation events Collected automatically
Device & log data IP address, browser and OS, device identifiers, timestamps, error logs Collected automatically
Cookie identifiers Analytics and preference cookies (see Section 3) Collected automatically
Section 2

How we use it

We use the information above to:

  1. Provide, maintain, and secure the Services, including authenticating your account;
  2. Understand how the Services are used so we can fix problems and improve them;
  3. Respond to your questions and support requests;
  4. Send you service-related communications, and, where you’ve agreed to receive them, product updates;
  5. Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  6. Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Section 3

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies (like local storage) for two purposes: keeping you signed in and remembering preferences (essential cookies), and understanding how the Services are used (analytics cookies). Essential cookies can’t be switched off, since the Services won’t work properly without them.

Analytics cookies are set by our analytics provider and help us see aggregate patterns — which pages get used, where people run into friction — rather than tracking you individually across other sites. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect parts of the Services that rely on them.

Section 4

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — for example, our analytics provider and hosting infrastructure — limited to what they need to do that job.
  • Legal & safety — where we believe disclosure is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Waterskier Software, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if Waterskier Software is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a policy at least as protective.
  • With your direction — any other sharing we’ll tell you about at the time and, where required, ask your permission for.
Section 5

Retention

We keep account and contact information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return or as needed to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. Usage and log data is generally retained in a form tied to your identity for a shorter period, after which it’s deleted or aggregated so it no longer identifies you.

Section 6

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and routine review of our practices — designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Section 7

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Delete your information, subject to certain exceptions (like records we’re required to keep);
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including opting out of analytics cookies; and
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these, reach us using the contact details in Section 11. We’ll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and may need to verify your identity first.

Section 8

Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Section 9

International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the one where you live. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps intended to ensure it remains protected consistently with this policy and applicable law.

Section 10

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our Services or legal obligations change. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice — such as an in-product message or email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
